Stoke City boss Mark Hughes would be happy for former Manchester United teammate Ryan Giggs if he was handed the manager's job fulltime.
He admits it's unlikely amid talk of a big hitter moving into United in the summer, but says Pep Guardiola at Barcelona was a prime example of how European clubs would often promote from within.
"I'll be pleased if he does get it. And if he does, just grab the opportunity and run with it.
"Ryan has a way of getting his view across and is a player who always led by example. What he will have is the total respect of everybody at United."
