Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is looking forward to a reunion with Doncaster Rovers counterpart Darren Ferguson.
The pair played together at Manchester United.
Hughes vividly remembers the youngster making his debut at Sheffield United in 1991.
He said: “Maybe we were too scared of his old man to give him any grief - that might well have been part of it.
"I don't think we gave him any kind of initiation ceremony. At the end of the day, he had to stand on his own two feet and play.
“If he had been a poor player and the gaffer was pushing his son, it would have been an issue. But it wasn't because he could play.
“It can't have been easy, but credit to him. He's now acknowledged in his own right as a good football man who understands the game."
