Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is the new bookies' favourite for the sack.

The Sun says Hughes is now the favourite to be the first Premier League manager to lose his job this season.

Stoke were hammered 4-1 by Crystal Palace on Sunday leaving them with just a single point from their first five matches.

Sunderland are the only other winless side in the division, but the Potters have the worst defensive record and were expected to push on following their ninth place finish last season.

Some bookies even have Hughes, 52, as an odds-on favourite (SkyBet, 10/11).
