Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has backed David Moyes to turn things around at Manchester United.
Hughes experienced the bad as well as the good at Old Trafford. He believes Moyes is still the right man for the job.
"There is huge focus on United; you have to deal with that," said Hughes. "I used that as a motivation.
"From my point of view, it was fear of failure. I didn't want to let anyone have a chance to criticise.
"Don't forget this team were champions last year and there haven't been too many changes apart from the guy at the top.
"Pressure will be brought to bear and that goes with the territory. David has been in the game a long time now and he knows how it works. United will give him time because he deserves time."
