Salif Diao has signed a new contract, while Andy Wilkinson has agreed an extension to his deal at Stoke City. "I'm really happy to sign the contract," Diao told the club's official website.

"I've always wanted to stay here and the club always wanted me to stay here too.

"There's a very difficult season ahead of us now and it's good for everything to be sorted out now."

Meanwhile, full-back Wilkinson has inked a one-year extension to his contract.

Wilkinson said: "I'm delighted that I've signed the extension to my contract.

"It was a dream come true to play for the club that I supported as a kid and now to sign a new deal for another season going into the Premier League is another dream.

"I still have to pinch myself at times to see if it's all real, but I'm buzzing and can't wait for the new season."
