Stoke appoint Cartwright as technical director

Stoke City have appointed Mark Cartwight as the clubs new technical director.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper has been working as a player agent for the past decade but has now been brought in by the Potters to oversee the scouting and player recruitment department at the Britannia Stadium where he will work closely with manager Tony Pulis and chief executive Tony Scholes.

"I'm delighted to welcome Mark to the club and I look forward to working with him in the critically important area of player recruitment," Pulis told the club's official website.

"In an increasingly complex market, it's important that we are as organised, thorough and skilled in this area as possible."
