Sterling not bothered by controversial goal as Man City reach cup final

Raheem Sterling said he was not at all concerned by Manchester City's controversial goal in Wednesday night's Capital One Cup win over Everton.

The winger provided a cut-back for Kevin De Bruyne to score, making it 2-1 in City's eventual 3-1 win (4-3 on aggregate), despite the fact the ball had made it's way over the byline.

The linesman failed to pick up the incident, allowing the goal to be counted, but Sterling did not care too much as City progressed to the final where they will meet his former club Liverpool at Wembley on February 28.

"I was only interested in the ball hitting the back of the net, I wasn't looking if the ball was out or not," he said on Sky Sports.

"The most important thing is we got the luck this time, last time we didn't get a penalty, this time it might have been out but we scored and we're in the final."

Ross Barkley had opened the scoring for Everton in the 18th minute to make it 3-1 to the Toffees overall before Fernandinho, De Bruyne and Aguero completed a famous fightback by the Citizens.
