Sterling breaks into Man City's top 10 all-time goalscorers

Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling has broken into the club's all time leading goalscorers.

His goal in City's Champions League victory over Sporting was his 127th since joining the Club in July 2015, moving him above Alec Herd into outright 10th position in the rankings.

Sterling achieved the notable feat in his 323rd appearance for City and it was also the 150th goal of his club career.

To date, the 27-year-old has netted 88 times for City in the Premier League, 24 in the Champions League, eight in the FA Cup, six in the League Cup and once in the Community Shield.

Indeed, his 24 goals in the Champions League mean he is now joint-second with Paul Scholes on the list of highest scoring Englishmen in the competition's history. Only Wayne Rooney (30) has more.

He needs six more goals to move further up the rankings, with Fred Tilson and Billy Gillespie tied ahead of him in ninth place having both hit the back of the net on 132 occasions.
