Manchester United Treble winner Jaap Stam says former teammate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the right man in charge.

Stam knows Solskjaer has the ability to rebuild United — given time.

“I think he can do that," added Stam.

“He's been a manager for seven years now. So he knows how to build a team. United's board have to give him the time and the attributes to do that. But the United manager will always be under a lot of pressure.

“There will always be people saying things, and you have to make decisions. But I am sure Ole is more than ­capable of that. Sometimes with this job, the team needs time to grow – and then, eventually, you will get the results."
