St Etienne have made a move for Leicester City midfielder Nampalys Mendy.

Mendy is eager to leave Leicester after a difficult year in England and has talked up a move to Bordeaux.

Bordeaux are keen, though Le 10 Sport says they'll face competition from St Etienne.

ASSE hope to sign Mendy on-loan with the option to buy, though the Foxes are insisting on a straight sale.

The midfielder signed for Leicester last summer from Nice.
