Spurs unlikely to follow Liverpool in furlough u-turn

Tottenham are not likely to follow Liverpool's lead in taking their employees off furlough.

Premier League clubs were criticised for furloughing non-playing staff members.

They did so to save money, as a government scheme would pay most of those employees' wages during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Mirror suggests that while Liverpool backed down on that decision, Spurs will go ahead with their move.

Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust had recently hoped the club would change its mind, issuing a statement on Twitter:

"We have been saying consistently @SpursOfficial - pause and rethink. We are now saying it clearly and in public - do not further damage the Club's reputation, listen to your fans."

But the source claims that Spurs are not backtracking as they attempt to save as much money as possible during the COVID-19 outbreak.
