Spurs target Spence won't rush transfer decision after Forest promotion

Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence says he won't a rush a decision about next season.

Tottenham have been tracking the £15million-rated wing-back, who has just helped loan club Nottingham Forest to Premier League promotion.

Spence admits he doesn't know where he'll be playing next season, saying: "I'm just going to enjoy this moment and live in the present. We've just got promoted and I want to enjoy it with the fans, team, players and staff.

"It's been a memorable one and hopefully we can get many more. What made it happen? Belief. The manager came in and gave us belief with lots of hard work. I'm not too sure when we thought it was possible, but you could smell it and feel it in the group and changing room. You just get the vibe and we thought we could go up and we've taken that chance.

"I don't know why I was loaned out. It's football - trials and tribulations happen and you must get on with it. Whatever happens, you have to just work hard and try your best. Everyone wants to play in the Premier League and I believe I can play there.

"I need to keep doing what I am doing, I will keep working hard. I will listen to my manager, listen to my coaches. I don't pay too much attention to it (transfer speculation).

"I just live in the present and that is us going up. I am only focussed on enjoying that at the moment. My family means everything to me and they keep me grounded We have our conversations about what is going on in football. People can see I am trying my best and I just want to keep it going."
