Spurs, Man Utd alerted as Espanyol plan cut-price Hector Moreno sale

Espanyol are ready to sell Hector Moreno in January - and for a knockdown fee. With no progress made over new contract talks, Espanyol are willing to sell the Mexico defender for a cut-price €7 million next month.

Tottenham and Manchester United are interested in Moreno.

Asked about the interest of United, Moreno recalled his time with their manager Louis van Gaal when playing for AZ Alkmaar.

He also is close to Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, who signed him for Espanyol.

"I appreciate him very much, it was he who decided to bring me here."

He said just last month: "Many times the club has stated it is prepared to sell me. That's not me saying it, that's the president.

"It would be beneficial for the club if I am on the market."
