Tottenham legend Martin Chivers has jumped to the defence of Roberto Soldado.
Soldado has scored six goals from open play in 31 appearances this season for Spurs.
Chivers told the Sunday Mirror: "Spurs are missing a goal machine. But every team wants that. There's not that many around.
"I feel sorry for Soldado. He hasn't had a bit of the luck you need in front of goal, so he's snapped at things. The crowd at White Hart Lane lifted me so much I was always confident of scoring."
