Former Tottenham and Newcastle United boss Ossie Ardiles hopes to return to British football at Motherwell.
The Daily Express says the 1978 World Cup winner has applied for the vacant Fir Park role.
The 62-year-old has a wealth of top managerial experience in England with Swindon Town, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Bromwich Albion.
Ardiles is also well-travelled, having had spells with Mexican club Guadalajara, Croatia Zagreb, Beitar Jersualem, Puerto Rican side Huracan and Japanese teams Shimizu S-Pulse, Yokohama Marinos and Tokyo Verdy. His last spell was in Japan's second division with Machida Zelvia two years ago and since then he been assisting with the academy and acting as an adviser at Tottenham.
