Spurs' Kane: I can break Shearer record

Tottenham forward Harry Kane believes he can one day break Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer's record of 260 Premier League goals.

Kane has netted 70 goals in 112 appearances for Spurs and has scored 20-plus goals for the last three seasons. At just 23-years old, the Englishman thinks he has plenty of time to be able to break the long-standing record.

"I think I can [break Shearer's record]," he told Sky Sports' Soccer Am. "It is easy to say that but a lot can happen.

"I need another 190-odd but I have full belief in myself and my ability.

"I have never backed down from a challenge and it is a target that I can hopefully reach."

Second on the list is Manchester United's Wayne Rooney who sits 60 goals behind the former Southampton, Blackburn and Newcastle forward.
