Tottenham have joined Arsenal in their interest in Catania star defender Juan Vargas.

The Peru international is the talk of Italy today after his goal helped dump AC Milan out of the Coppa Italia.

Milan, Spurs, Arsenal and Roma are all chasing Vargas, who said: "I am happy for the goal and for the victory. Stories about the market should not affect me, for now I try to do the maximum for Catania, even though I know that soon I might get the call from a big club."
