Spurs goalscorers Kulusevski, Sessegnon delighted defeating Southampton: Conte would kill me!

Tottenham's players were delighted after their 4-1 win against Southampton.

Spurs fell behind in the 12th minute to James Ward-Prowse's volley, driving the ball into the ground and watching the bounce beat Hugo Lloris, but Antonio Conte's side's response was swift and ruthless.

Ryan Sessegnon headed in his first Premier League goal for the club from an inviting Dejan Kulusevski cross to draw the hosts level and by the half-hour mark they were in front.

Eric Dier had not scored in three years but met a whipped Son Heung-min delivery with a low, flicked header into the far corner.

Tottenham carried that confidence into the second half and Mohammed Salisu turned Emerson Royal's cross into his own net, before the impressive Kulusevski grabbed a well-taken fourth to cap a dominant display.

Kulusevski later said: "We are very pleased - it wasn't an easy game. going behind at home isn't nice and after we scored we could have scored a lot more. I love how this team is playing because we create a lot of chances and the fans are enjoying it and I like playing.

"I've missed playing. It is so nice to be back in front of the fans and the family and I really enjoyed it.

"We have a lot of days before the next game so we'll be able to recover and train ahead of the next game because Chelsea are an amazing team and it will be a tough game."

Sessegnon also remarked: "If I hadn't scored that I think he (Antonio Conte) would have killed to be honest! There was a moment a couple of minutes earlier when Dejan Kulusevski cut back and I arrived too late and I knew I couldn't arrive too late the next time he did it.

"I want to learn from Ivan Perisic - he's helped me a lot f earl ready and we can challenge each other."
