Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier insists he will vindicate Gareth Southgate's faith in him when England play Scotland on Saturday.
The 26-year old returns to the England fold for the first time since playing for the Under 21's six years ago.
After a rejuvenating season with Spurs, the right-back is ready to prove his worth for the Three Lions.
"[The road] has been difficult. There is so much quality in the senior squad and it has been a long journey for me. It has been a good few years since I was with the U21s," said Trippier via the Express.
"But I always believed in myself and believed that I could get in the England team one day. The time has come now. There are two big games now and hopefully I can show the manager what I can do."
