Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood says there's no blocking Jermain Defoe's departure to Toronto FC.
Sherwood admits he's frustrated losing the striker.
"Jermain wants to go," said Sherwood. "He's made his choice. He's fought long and hard. He's been in this country for a long time and been a great servant to the Premier League. Now he wants to try a career somewhere else and we wish him well.
"They've paid a massive amount of money for him and given him a decent contract. Their season is going to start, they won't want him waltzing in halfway through and I'm sure Jermain would not want to do that anyway."
