Spurs boss Mourinho hails Kane team spirit

Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has lauded Harry Kane for his willingness to help his team.

Despite not finding the back of the net, the England international lead from the front in Monday's win over Everton and Mourinho was impressed.

Mourinho said: "He does what he does always and that's to play for the team. And sometimes to play for the team is to finish attacking situations, other times to play for the team is to do what we did today. We knew in the second half the spaces would appear more for Sonny and Lucas than him.

"They were losing and Carlo likes Coleman and Digne to go forward. We knew spaces would appear in these positions.

"Harry dropped and maybe people don't know but he is so good technically and holding the ball that sometimes he can play well when he drops back and he doesn't play really as a target striker.

"He did it for the team and it's very, very important that a team doesn't have this selfish situation of 'I have to do a certain kind of things'. You have to do what the team needs to do and I'm happy."
