Tottenham boss Antonio Conte had his players train this morning after last night's Champions League defeat at Sporting CP.

He watched his team slump to a 2-0 loss here in the Portuguese capital despite the game being goalless in the 90th minute, Conte is also believed to have tore into his players in the dressing room after full time.

Tottenham flew into Southend Airport directly after the game before heading back to the club's Lodge retreat at their Enfield training HQ.

The players were always due to spend the night at the club's training ground following the game against Sporting, but with a view to an afternoon training session, says the Daily Mail.

Conte had not informed the players of their training schedule for today but broke the news of their earlier than anticipated start after the game.

Conte is understood to have brought training forward to 11am as a consequence of his team's late implosion in Lisbon.
