Manchester United will face stiff competition for Sporting CP midfielder Joao Palhinha should they firm up their interest.
It's emerged United have scouted Palhinha eight times this season as they consider him as a successor for veteran Nemanja Matic.
However, Record says United won't get a clear run at Palhinha should they get serious.
Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Atlético Madrid are also keen on the 26 year-old.
With a contract to 2026, Sporting rate Palhinha at €30m, despite his deal carrying a €60m buyout clause.
