Tottenham are moving to trump Manchester United for Sporting CP midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

Spurs are turning to Fernandes after being priced out of a deal for Real Betis playmaker Giovani Lo Celso.

A Bola says Spurs are set to switch their focus to Fernandes.

The Portugal international scored 10 goals and notched 13 assists in 31 league games last season to attract the attention of Europe's elite.

Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the 24-year-old, but it is claimed that Spurs' ability to offer Champions League football would make them a preferred destination.

It has been reported that the Red Devils are willing to pay around £70m for the midfielder, but Spurs could complete a deal for around £60m.
