Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has taken to social media to update fans on his home robbery suffered yesterday.

The 24-year-old Tottenham midfielder was punched in the face after being threatened by two masked intruders armed with knives in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Alli was with his girlfriend Ruby Mae at the time as the robbers made off with thousands of pounds worth of jewellery, including watches.

Alli tweeted: "Thank you for all the messages. Horrible experience but we're all okay now. Appreciate the support."

Tottenham's official Twitter accounted responded: "We're with you Dele".

The club added: "We have been offering our support to Dele and those isolating with him. We encourage anyone with any information to help the police with their investigation to come forward."
