Sporting Lisbon striker Pedro Goncalves says their Europa League win at Arsenal was fully deserved.

Pedro struck a wonder goal before Sporting won the round of 16 tie on penalties last night.

He said, "It was a completely deserved victory for everything we did, not only in this game but also in the first one. We were always at a disadvantage, but we always believe, we went after the result and it is completely deserved."

On the goal, Pedro said: "I don't know, I looked up and saw that the goalkeeper was a bit short, everything was perfect, I'm happy about that. I'd not trained for it at all, it came to me at the moment and I'm very happy with the goal and for the team's performance."

How far they can go?

"It depends on the luck of the draw, in this tie we weren't very lucky. Now it depends on the teams that went through, just wait and see. And as I said before, we go part by part, and then we'll see."
