Roger Espinoza has been cleared to join Wigan Athletic on January 1 after receiving his international clearance and a working visa.
The Sporting Kansas City midfielder has been granted permission to work in the UK and will now complete his shift from MLS to the Premier League when the winter transfer window opens in the New Year.
"This has been a dream for me to play in England and I am so grateful for the club who have worked so hard to make this happen," the Honduras international said.
"I just can't wait now to join up with Maynor (Figueroa) and all the guys and get to work."
