Sporting Kanas City believe Marin could become MLS' best keeper

Sporting Kansas City could have one of the most talented goalkeepers in MLS on their hands.

That is the sentiment of SKC's goalkeeping coach John Pascarella who is already a massive fan of Chilean gloveman Luis Marin.

The 31-year old was signed from Campeonato Nacional side O'Higgins in December last year and has impressed so much in pre-season that Pascarella feels the 2013 MLS Cup winners have the perfect replacement for retired veteran Jimmy Nielsen.

"He's been very good," Pascarella told MLSsoccer.com.

"His ability to play with his feet, whether it's out of his hands to play long or whether it's a back-pass situation, is outstanding.

"It is top-quality, worldwide. It's something that sets him apart with his game."

Of the eight-time Chile international, Pascarella added: "It's no secret that I think he could be the best goalkeeper in the league.

"I think he has the skillset, and I think he has the pedigree to be the best there is in the league. I think his ceiling is very, very high."

Marin will make his MLS debut when Sporting KC open their 2015 MLS season with a home fixture against New York Red Bulls on March 8.
