Sporting Gijon fullback Douglas admits his time with Barcelona left him regularly in tears.

Douglas, 26, spent two years in Barcelona before he was loaned to Sporting Gijon last summer.

"In Barcelona I had big problems with injuries. Every day, I went home and cried, but that's how it is," he told El Comercio.

"I had to accept it and move on. I knew it was hard, but also that I would get myself out of it. Now I've done it.

"There were people who were always against me inside the club, but I had to be strong for my family and for the people who loved me."
