Sporting CP are eyeing a move for former striker Islam Slimani.

The Algerian has struggled since leaving Sporting for Leicester City in 2016.

The 31-year-old has not lived up to expectations in the Premier League, and his loan moves since have not been successes either.

Now O Jogo is reporting that Sporting are interested in bringing the player back to Portugal.

Slimani has nine goals and seven assists in 18 Ligue 1 games for Monaco this term.

He scored 57 goals in 111 games for Sporting between 2013 and 2016.
