Sporting CP are closing a deal for Barcelona striker Abel Ruiz today.

Ruiz moves to Sporting on-loan to the end of the season with a compulsory permanent option worth €10m to be paid in June.

Barca will also have a buy-back option written into the deal in the event Ruiz's performances explode while in Lisbon.

The striker has spent this season with Barca B and has struggled to break into the senior team - despite their injury problems.

Ruiz arrived at La Masia in 2012 from Valencia.
