Livorno president Aldo Spinelli must fight off stiff competition if he is to replace coach Nando Orsi this week with one of his top two targets.
Yesterday's defeat to Catania was Livorno's third consecutive loss and Spinelli chose to take 24 hours to reflect on his club's predicament.
Controcampo says Spinelli's top two choices are Luigi De Canio and Gianni de Biasi.
De Biasi revealed last week he had held talks with Spain's Levante about succeeding their under pressure coach Abel Resino. Meanwhile, De Canio has met with QPR's new Italian owners and will move to Loftus Road should results not pick up for caretaker manager Mick Harford.
