Liverpool's Sergi Canos scored off the bench for Brentford in the Bees 3-0 hammering of Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
19-year old Canos has struggled to maintain a consistent role in Brentford's starting eleven since moving to Griffin Park at the start of the season.
However, the Spaniard was able to capitalize on his 18th appearance off the bench this season with a late goal in what was Brentford's third win of 2016.
The relegation battlers were engaged in a tense first half stalemate with fellow strugglers Forest, whose woes were further compounded when Lasse Vibe put the Bees ahead after 49 minutes.
The home side went further behind when Nico Yennaris doubled Brentford's lead with 25 minutes remaining.
Up stepped Canos to seal the win.
Latching onto a Vibe through pass, Canos calmly slotted the ball past Forest goalkeeper Dorus De Vries, taking his season tally to 5 goals.
The victory has given Brentford a valuable nine-point buffer from the relegation zone with a game to spare over its rivals. Canos will be hoping to build on his performance on the weekend against bottom placed Bolton on Tuesday night, a match that manager Dean Smith will be expecting to win.
