Chelsea's defence has leaked plenty of goals in the early stages of the season, but it may have a found a talented defender in the form of youngster Alex Davey.
Davey signed for League Two club Peterborough United on a month-long loan deal on August 8 and the 20-year-old has made five appearances since then, putting in several good shifts and impressing the Posh faithful, who have called for a longer deal.
@davey_alex absolute class today, looked so good as a Centre Back!

Alex Davey's loan needs to be extended, brilliant defender who's comfortable on the ball

Davey was voted Peterborough's Man of the Match at the weekend in a 1-1 draw against League One leaders Gillingham, in a game that featured fellow Chelsea loanee Jordan Houghton.
The defender was neat in possession, and made several timely interceptions to keep his side in the game when 1-0 down, before Jon Taylor scored in stoppage time to earn the Posh a point.
Thankyou for voting me Man of the match aswell, very much appreciated #poshpic.twitter.com/NrSeF8VkxG

Davey has been a part of the youth setup at Chelsea since the age of ten, and spent last season on loan at Scunthorpe United in League One.
The youngster's immediate future could depend on Chelsea's activity in the transfer market over the next day or so. If Jose Mourinho successfully signs John Stones, or another defender, Davey could possibly spend the season at Peterborough.
If there is no transfer activity at Stamford Bridge, he could return to boost the Blue's defensive stocks for the remainder of the campaign.
