Roma coach Luciano Spalletti admits defeat against Inter Milan has hurt them going into tonight's Champions League clash with Manchester United.

"The truth is Roma could have arrived at this appointment in better shape," said Spalletti reflecting on their 4-1 home defeat. "But given the performances we have recorded before Saturday, I am confident we can compete with Manchester United.

"We must forget this ugly result and react to it."
