Spain U21 coach Luis de la Fuente would welcome Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos into the Spanish Olympics squad with open arms.
De la Fuente will take charge of the U23 squad for the 2020 Tokyo Games and Ramos has made no secret of his desire to be there.
"Firstly, I must congratulate him on the record of being the highest capped player in the history of the Spanish national team with 168 matches," De la Fuente told Radio MARCA.
"Secondly, it's an immense pride that Sergio, with who I get on very well with, is prepared to come to the Olympic Games.
"Such an important player that has won so much in the history of this country wants to come to an event as distinguished as the Games."
