Spain U21 coach Luis de la Fuente is full of praise for Dinamo Zagreb wing-back Dani Olmo.
The former Barcelona junior was key in Spain's U21 Euros triumph.
De la Fuente told Marca: "He's shown that he's very brave and mature. He knew exactly what he wanted to do. He surprised us all when he went to play in Croatia, he could've gone to play in England, Germany or Italy.
"It was a shock at first, but he's had the chance to play at Dinamo Zagreb. He was starting games at 17 or 18 years of age and is ahead of his years.
"It hasn't been a surprise because the gamble is clear, we knew that his performances were good, but it was a surprise to the rest of the football world that didn't know where he was."
