Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri has hit out at Morocco's tactics during their World Cup round of 16 clash.

The Spaniards were bundled out of the World Cup by the North African nation on Tuesday, losing on penalties.

The game ended 0-0 after extra time, with Spain then missing all of their spot kicks to crash out and head home.

“Morocco offered absolutely nothing, without disrespecting them," Rodri said.

“In the game, they did nothing.

“They just waited for the counters. They stayed behind and tried to counter us."

Spain managed more than 1000 passes in the game, but could only muster a single shot on target.
