Spain coach Luis Enrique admits Valencia defender Gabriel Paulista is on his radar.

Gabriel is set to gain Spanish nationality in the near future and Enrique has revealed that the Valencia centre-back is among his options for La Roja's defence.

"I am aware of every player who could be called up and Paulista is going through a process that could make him eligible," he told Movistar+.

Enrique travelled to Saudi Arabia to attend the Supercopa de Espana games and expressed his preference for the new format of the tournament.

"I like the format," he said.

"The Supercopa de Espana seemed more like a mere summer process due to the dates in which it was held.

"With these dates and format, I find it more attractive.

"As a coach I am delighted."
