Gareth Southgate has turned down the chance to join Fabio Capello's England coaching team.
The People says the FA were keen on the idea of bringing a new young homegrown coach to join Stuart Pearce among Capello's England set-up and groom him as a potential successor. But former Middlesbrough boss Southgate is not interested.
Southgate is keen to return to club management and is a candidate to succeed Martin O'Neill at his former club Aston Villa.
