Released Blackburn Rovers striker Maceo Rigters has been handed trials by Southend United.
The 25-year-old, who had loan spells at Norwich and Barnsley, was released by Rovers this summer after two Premier League appearances in two seasons.
Rigters was signed by Rovers two years ago after an outstanding U21 European Championships.
