Ronald Koeman was over the moon with his Southampton side on Sunday.

The Saint came from 2-0 down to beat Liverpool 3-2 at St Mary's to keep their European hopes alive and giving the Dutchman a great gift ahead of his 53rd birthday.

"Tomorrow is my birthday and this is the best present I get," he said.

"Normally the FA Cup winner will be out the top four or five in the league and that usually means the seventh position is not enough (for a Europa League spot).

"It is difficult to finish better than last year. We got six points Stoke and Liverpool which makes it possible.

"That's good because that means you are fighting for something until the end of the season."

Sadio Mane scored a double either side of Graziano Pelle's brilliant strike as Southampton scored three goals in 20 minutes to make it back-to-back wins.
