Southampton are eyeing up a £12.5million swoop for Lille defender Djibril Sidibe, according to reports from the Daily Mirror.

Claude Puel recently took over the reins as manager of the Saints and he is now keen on bolstering his squad with the signing of a new defender.

It is understood that Puel has identified Lille's Sidibe as one of his main targets and the Frenchman is ready to splash as much as £12.5m in order to land the 23-year-old.
