Southampton are showing significant interest in Anderlecht's Steven Defour.

Reports suggest that Saints boss Claude Puel is willing to spend £6million to lure the midfielder from Belgium to the south coast of England.

Defour is believed to have grown tired of fan abuse at Anderlecht after spending five years with arch rivals Standard Liege earlier in his career and is eyeing a fresh start elsewhere.

Puel is looking to fill the central midfield void left by Victor Wanyama's move to Tottenham Hotspur and is keen to have 46-time international Defour in his ranks.
