Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini is desperate for a new chance with Italy.
Gabbiadini is desperate to make up for being involved in the failed World Cup playoff against Sweden last year.
He told the Gazzetta dello Sport: "It was a tough year, the worst suffered for the result of the San Siro and the reduced use at Southampton, I experienced difficult moments.
"I was told I would be the starter, in the dressing room I saw the tension on the faces of my teammates, I was motivated, San Siro ws full with incredible emotion, I read and heard many things, I just say we could've won.
"There was a negative atmosphere already after the away leg, when we lost and we also took a lot of blows ... It bothers me that we want to blame someone: we lost as everyone. There were those who wept, those who did not move, those who took a shower and ran away."
