Southampton striker Che Adams urges calm after Leeds thumping

Southampton striker Che Adams urged calm after their 3-0 defeat to Leeds United.

Leeds then netted three goals in the second half as Southampton fell to another disappointing Premier League defeat in 2021.

"Obviously it's a tough result to take," Adams told the club's website. "I think we dominated the first-half but had some decisions go against us. In the second half we didn't really create much and we got punished."

Referencing his disallowed goal, Adams said "the ref[eree] disallowed because he said he wasn't ready, it's one of those, it's hard to take.

"We believed in everything that we were doing. We were doing the right things but couldn't get the goal in the end and they punished us in the second half.

"It was down to us to keep moving the ball well and try and create openings, we didn't do that unfortunately.

"As a striker you're going to go through these spells, I've been through it once before.

"I think everyone knows that we're a good team and we have to remember that and keep going. It doesn't get any easier, but as a team we're more than capable of doing it."
