Southampton set to announce Salisu signing

Southampton are close to announcing a deal for Mohammed Salisu from Valladolid.

The defender is a key target for manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.

And the Daily Mail indicates the club are close to a deal for the Ghanian, who was wanted by Manchester United and West Ham United as well.

The 21-year-old will cost the Saints around £10.9 million, with the club set to hand him a four year contract.

The speed of the transfer is due to Southampton agreeing to pay his buy out clause, which means Valladolid cannot reject the bid.

Salisu was wanted by big clubs, but he prefers the regular first team football he is likely to get with Hasenhuttl at Southampton.
