While the France U21 defender is a target for Olympique Marseille, there is a risk they could miss out on the youngster.

Foot Mercato says Newcastle United and Southampton are in contact with the Gunners about Saliba's availability.

Both Prem rivals would be keen on taking Saliba on-loan for the new season.

While Saliba favours a return to France at OM, Arsenal management believe his development would be better served by spending the new campaign with a Premier League club.
