Southampton midfielder Oriol Romeu recognises how important their clash with Brighton is.
Romeu is back to playing his best under Ralph Hasenhüttl and this weekend they face Brighton. It is a big chance to put some daylight between them and the relegation zone.
Romeu told the Mirror: “I've been here for four years and the club has always been progressive, the line has been going higher every season. The last two seasons, I don't think we've been good enough for the quality that we have in the squad and the set-up we have.
“That's not what we were aiming for and not where we should be. But that's just words because we are here now and we deserve to be here now.
“We need to learn from it. We don't want to have another experience like Swansea last because that was tense. I think everyone was a bit scared.
“The game with Brighton will be crucial, the home game with Liverpool will be crucial and we want to be safe without going through that Swansea game again."
