The Blues had reportedly made a bid to the Saints for the highly rated midfielder.

The ex-Saints captain was wanted by Carlo Ancelotti at Merseyside.

However, Liverpool Echo reports Everton were told by Hojbjerg that he prefers a move to Tottenham.

The report claims no official bid was launched, as the player already has his heart set on going to North London.
